Good Questions, Honest Answers

Everything Gainesville neighbors usually want to know before their first visit — and if we missed one, just call.

What areas around Gainesville do you serve?

We're based in Gainesville (32601) and cover about a 20-mile reach. That's the whole city, from Duckpond, the Southeast and Pleasant Street historic districts and the neighborhoods around UF to Florida Park, the Highlands, Millhopper, Hunters Crossing and the newer communities along Newberry Road and Archer Road, plus nearby towns such as Alachua, Newberry, Jonesville, Haile Plantation, Archer, Micanopy, Hawthorne and Waldo. If you're near that line, call and ask; we can usually make it work, especially for a longer list.

Do you give free estimates?

Yes. Most Gainesville jobs can be priced firmly off a handful of photos and a quick call. Bigger jobs, or ones where we can't tell what's behind the surface, get a free visit to look in person. In both cases, the price is settled and written down before we put a date on the calendar.

Do you charge by the hour or by the job?

Our default is a flat price per job, agreed before any work begins. When the list is open-ended, we settle on a rate and a working scope with you ahead of time, so the bill matches what you expected. And when a job turns out easier than it looked, you pay less, not the original figure.

Are your pros licensed and insured?

Yes. The work is done by insured local pros who hold the licenses and registrations required in Florida for the job at hand, so electrical and plumbing connections are handled by licensed tradespeople. Ask us anything before we start.

What jobs do you take on?

We handle the everyday repair and upkeep list: drywall and plaster patches, door adjustments, TV and shelf mounting, furniture assembly, ceiling fans and light fixtures, dimmers, smart switches, hardwired doorbells and thermostats, faucet, toilet, disposal and supply line repairs and replacements, fence and gate fixes, gutter cleaning, pressure washing, paint touch-ups, garage storage and seasonal maintenance. Send us everything on your list, even the five-minute items, and we'll build a single visit around all of it.

I own a rental near UF. Can you help between tenants?

Yes, and it's a big part of working in Gainesville. Many leases here turn over in late July and August, all at once, so we work backward from your move-in date. Between tenants we patch and paint walls, fix doors, locks and blinds, repair faucets and running toilets, replace smoke alarms and light fixtures, assemble furniture for furnished units and clear the small items a walk-through would flag. Book early for August; that window fills fast.

Can you help get my house ready for hurricane season?

That's one of the most useful visits we do, ideally in May before the season opens on June 1. We clean and check gutters and downspouts, secure loose fence boards and gates, tighten loose soffit and fascia trim, re-caulk gaps around windows and doors, check that exterior doors seal and latch tight, and set up garage shelving so storm supplies are easy to reach. It won't stop a big storm, but it removes a lot of the small failures that turn wind and rain into damage.

Can I just text you a photo of the problem?

Please do. Snap one close shot of the problem and one wider shot that shows the room or the wall around it, add a line about what's happening, and we can usually size up the job and often name a firm price. Good photos also mean the right parts are already on the van when we pull into your driveway.

How do I schedule, and how far out are you booked?

Phone us or fill out the contact form with your address and a quick note about what needs doing. We'll confirm a real arrival window, not a whole day, and let you know if we're running behind. Small jobs can often be fit in within the week; longer lists may take a little more lead time so we can block out enough hours to finish everything in one visit. On home football Saturdays we plan routes around the traffic near campus.
